Youth Age was founded in 2023 on a single conviction — that a bag, like a piece of furniture, should outlive its first owner. We make no more than nine hundred pieces a year. Each one is numbered, hand-stitched, and kept in the atelier until it is ready to leave.
Born of two cities.
The house was founded between a Florentine workshop inherited from Madame Hua's teacher and a small atelier in Shanghai's former concession. Every silhouette begins as a paper pattern in Firenze and returns to Shanghai for final finishing — a slow, twin-handed way of working that has defined the maison from the first piece.
Forty hours, one silhouette.
Each bag travels through twenty-seven hand-guided stages — from the first cut of the hide to the burnished edge of the final stitch. We measure time in stitches rather than days. Leather is chosen by feel, thread by tension, and every piece is signed by the artisan who closes its final seam.
A lifetime of repair.
Every Youth Age piece is registered to its owner and returns to the atelier, free of charge, whenever it needs care. Handles re-stitched, corners re-shaped, linings renewed — because a maison that rushes to replace forgets the hand that first made it.
